Who we are

Teen Challenge Uganda is not only for teens but a place for people of any age who wish to recover from all kinds of addictions. We help people with life controlling problems using scripture as the foundation for recovery and change. The program offers a Christian peaceful and safe environment for those who are struggling. Although socio-emotional support is provided, scripture plays an integral part of the program interventions with no use of drugs or medicine.

Our Program

The program target group encompasses everyone with life controlling problems.

The current focus is on the men’s residential program which runs for a duration of one year. The program takes into consideration the prioritized need for supporting young men and women entrapped in life controlling situations to come through as meaningful citizens.

Although the program is a paid one for the students, when we encounter people that would like to overcome their addictions but do not have the finances we still endeavor to take them in. Teen Challenge Uganda also largely relies on the generous donations/funding and volunteer efforts of both individuals and organizations.

We provide competent residential care for enrolled students in a 24 hour supervised and safe environment which shields them from the outer hostile environment, bad influence and the substances/habits that they have been abusing.

  • Slum outreaches

Through this connections we are able to follow up on any that we can help further for example through enrolling into the residential program.

  • Chrildren's Outreaches

At these outreaches we are able to connect with these children in their own neighbourhoods.

  • School Outreaches

We visit and partner with schools to introduce the Living Free materials to them so as to help the leaders therein conduct these small groups that will help students deal honestly with real life problems that affect them.

  • Church Outreaches

We conduct sensitization programs on the dangers of alcohol and drug abuse while offering them solutions for breaking free from life controlling problems.

  • Street Outreaches

On a monthly basis, TCU will take to the streets and reach out to sex workers.

  • Hope Village

It’s a centre for hope and a place for discipleship to tackle the problems of unemployment and under employment, illiteracy, poverty, addiction and life controlling problems.
